Introducing MUSICBOX 2021: SourHouse’s new music playlist.

New year, new music.

If you’re a regular to this blog, you’ll have notice a curious Spotify playlist occupying the top right of every page on the site. Today, we’re giving it the love it deserves.

MUSICBOX is where all the new music I’m digging at the moment gets showcased. A nifty mix of Pop, Alternative, Hip Hop, Dance and everything in between. If it’s taken my fancy, you can be sure it’ll be here.

This month, we’re kicking off with loads of stuff that dropped in November and December. The Worldrhythmn-infused beats of Greentea Peng on her new cut ‘Spells’ is one of my favourites at the moment, a perfect mid-afternoon bop that twinkles with cool urban vibes. Courtesy of my flatmate, the stunning closer from the new album from The Wytches, ‘You Looked Happy To Me’, also makes an appearance, its breezy 60s production echoing with Classic Rock muscle.

Make sure to give ‘Content’ by Negativland a listen if you’re craving something more leftfield. The experimental music project out of San Francisco may have been around since the late 70s, but this new song firmly proves they remain on the pulse, with its sound being just as dissecting as its lyrical content.

A favourite artist of the last few years for me is also on the playlist this month ‘Main Attraction’ by Junglepussy. She brings her zany, delectable energy to the Trap genre on her new album, and this is a particularly tasty cut taken from it.

Make sure to have a gander at the other tunes on there, and add it to your collection to keep track of the new stuff I’m adding on there.
